Kim Headstand

Kim Epifano, a respected, long-standing member of the San Francisco dance community, founded Epiphany Productions in 1997. Ms. Epifano was a key member of two of San Francisco's most collaborative, innovative and influential dance companies, the Dance Brigade and Contraband. Contraband set a precedent in the Bay Area, incorporating inversion dance movement and live drumming and song into their work. The Dance Brigade's work is distinguished for its thematic and political nature. It was during her tenure with these two companies that Ms. Epifano refined her personal vision for contemporary dance.

Her desire was to develop a dynamic style that fully integrated dance, sound and theater and to provide performers the chance to experiment with combinations of movement, voice and character. She also wanted to investigate the possibilities of turning the stage into a multi-dimensional space through aerial performance, unusual props and rich soundscapes. So to dedicate herself to these areas of interest more fully, she began her own company. See Kim Epifano's resume for Production History.
